The Prodigal Son
I titled this entry The Prodigal Son after something we prayed for on Saturday ( 21st Jan '06 or in more familiar terms 210106). Something that God impressed on our hearts on Saturday during the prayer meeting at 2pm in the basement was a deep conviction of holiness. We spent sometime praying about it and confessing our personal sins to God, asking for His forgiveness and to help us overcome our sins. God also showed us that so often we are like the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32) who wanting his inheritance to go out into the world and satisfy his fleshly desires, left the home of his Father, enjoyed the pleasures of sin for a short time and ended up in hard labor, feeding pigs and more often than not being fed with the pigs. We so often too seek worldly pleasures and end up suffering in sin and bondage. Lets also see the love of the Father for His prodigal son, He ran out to welcome his son who had fallen away and clothed him once again in clean clothes and jewellery.
Let us seek to live a lifestyle of holiness, not seeking the fleshly pleasures of sin and what the world can offer. Also lets thank God for His grace cause there've been times when we've all fallen and chose ungodly lives to satisfy our flesh and yet God still never let go of us and when we chose to turn back to Him, welcomed us so readily not holding our sins against us.
